Ingredients

12 oz elbow macaroni (or your favorite pasta)

2 cans (5 oz each) tuna in water, drained and flaked

1 cup frozen peas

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded Swiss cheese

1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup

1 cup milk

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp paprika

1 cup crushed potato chips (optional, for topping)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure it’s ready for baking.

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot filled with boiling salted water, cook the elbow macaroni according to the package instructions until it reaches an al dente texture. Once cooked, drain the pasta and set it aside to cool slightly.

Prepare the Tuna Mixture: In a spacious mixing bowl, combine the drained and flaked tuna, frozen peas, shredded cheddar cheese, and shredded Swiss cheese. Use a spatula or spoon to mix these ingredients together until they are evenly distributed.

Make the Sauce: In a separate bowl, whisk together the cream of mushroom soup, milk, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and paprika. Blend these ingredients until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Combine Everything: To the bowl containing the tuna mixture, add the cooked macaroni. Then, pour the creamy soup mixture over the top. Gently fold everything together, ensuring all the ingredients are well combined and coated with the sauce.

Transfer to Casserole Dish: Lightly grease a 9x13 inch casserole dish using cooking spray or butter. Pour the combined mixture into the dish and spread it out evenly.

Add Topping: If desired, sprinkle a generous layer of crushed potato chips over the top of the casserole for a delightful crunch that contrasts with the creamy filling.

Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake it for approximately 30-35 minutes. Keep an eye on the dish; it’s done when the casserole is bubbly and the top has turned a lovely golden brown.

Serve: Once baked, remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes. Before serving, garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a touch of color and freshness.

Enjoy: Serve warm as a comforting meal, ideal for cozy dinners. Pair it with a side salad or some steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
