Ingredients

4 large turkey drumsticks

4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

6 cloves of garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh rosemary, finely chopped

2 tablespoons fresh thyme, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 teaspoon kosher salt

½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

1 teaspoon smoked paprika (optional for a smoky flavor)

½ teaspoon onion powder

Instructions

Preheat Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C). For easy cleanup, line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper.

Prepare Marinade: In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the extra virgin olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, thyme, parsley, lemon juice, kosher salt, black pepper, smoked paprika (if using), and onion powder. Ensure all ingredients are well blended to form a cohesive marinade.

Marinate the Drumsticks: Place the turkey drumsticks in a large resealable plastic bag or a spacious bowl. Pour the marinade over the drumsticks, ensuring they are thoroughly coated. Seal the plastic bag or cover the bowl tightly and allow the drumsticks to marinate in the refrigerator for a minimum of 1 hour, though overnight is preferable for a more intense flavor.

Arrange Drumsticks: Once marinated, take the drumsticks out of the refrigerator. Arrange them on the prepared baking sheet, ensuring there is sufficient space between each piece to promote even cooking.

Roast the Drumsticks: Slide the baking sheet into the preheated oven. Roast the drumsticks for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). The skin should be beautifully golden brown and crispy. For added flavor, baste the drumsticks with the leftover marinade halfway through cooking.

Rest and Serve: After roasting, remove the drumsticks from the oven and allow them to rest for about 10 minutes. This resting period enables the juices to redistribute, making the meat tender and juicy. Serve the turkey drumsticks warm alongside your favorite side dishes such as mashed potatoes or roasted vegetables!
