Ingredients

4 salmon fillets (6 oz each)

1 bunch of fresh asparagus, trimmed

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice

Zest of 1 lemon

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon dried oregano

1 teaspoon dried thyme

Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Lemon slices (for garnish)

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C) to ensure it is hot and ready for baking.

Prepare the Marinade: In a small mixing bowl, combine the olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest, minced garlic, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, and pepper. Whisk these ingredients together until well blended to create a flavorful marinade.

Marinate the Salmon: Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or a resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the prepared marinade over the salmon, ensuring each fillet is thoroughly coated. Let the salmon marinate at room temperature for at least 15 minutes, allowing the flavors to penetrate the fish.

Arrange the Asparagus: On a large baking sheet lined with parchment paper, lay the trimmed asparagus in a single, even layer. Drizzle the remaining marinade over the asparagus and toss gently to ensure even coverage.

Add the Salmon to the Baking Sheet: Create a space in the center of the asparagus for the salmon. Carefully place the marinated salmon fillets on the baking sheet, skin-side down, ensuring they are nestled amongst the asparagus.

Bake to Perfection: Transfer the baking sheet to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes. The salmon is done when it flakes easily with a fork, and the asparagus is tender yet crisp.

Garnish for Presentation: Once baked, remove the sheet from the oven. For a delightful finish, garnish your dish with freshly chopped parsley and arrange lemon slices around the salmon and asparagus.

Serve and Enjoy: You can serve the salmon and asparagus directly on the baking sheet for a casual yet beautiful presentation, or transfer it to a serving platter to elevate the dining experience. Enjoy your delicious creation!
