3 large eggs

½ cup chocolate chips

Powdered sugar for dusting

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9-inch bundt pan or a 10-inch round cake pan to ensure easy removal of the cake after baking.

    Prepare the Pumpkin Batter:

      - In a large mixing bowl, thoroughly whisk together 1 ½ cups of all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.

        - In another bowl, combine the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil. Beat in the eggs one at a time, making sure each egg is well incorporated before adding the next.

          - Gently fold in the pumpkin puree and vanilla extract, mixing until the mixture is smooth and uniform.

            - Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet pumpkin mixture, stirring until just combined—be cautious not to over-mix.

              Prepare the Chocolate Batter:

                - Clean the mixing bowl to avoid mixing flavors. In it, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, unsweetened cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

                  - In a separate bowl, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil. Add the eggs and beat well until fully blended.

                    - Stir in the vanilla extract until the mixture is consistent.

                      - Carefully fold in the dry ingredient mixture with the wet cocoa mixture until just combined, taking care not to overwork the batter.

                        Create the Marble Effect:

                          - Spoon alternating dollops of the pumpkin batter and chocolate batter into the prepared pan. You can create a pattern by continuously layering the batters.

                            - Using a knife or a skewer, gently swirl the batters together to achieve a marbled look; be careful not to overmix to keep the distinct layers.

                              Bake the Cake:

                                - Place the cake in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 45-50 minutes. To check for doneness, insert a toothpick into the center—if it comes out clean, the cake is ready.

                                  - Once done, allow the cake to cool in the pan for about 15 minutes. After cooling slightly, carefully invert the cake onto a wire rack to cool completely.

                                    Optional Toppings:

                                      - If you like, melt the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl and drizzle them artistically over the cooled cake.

                                        - For an elegant finish, lightly dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
