2 cups broccoli florets

1 medium onion, sliced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 inch piece of ginger, minced or grated

1 bell pepper (red or yellow), sliced into thin strips

3 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon oyster sauce (optional)

1 tablespoon cornstarch

2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)

1 tablespoon sesame oil (for added flavor)

Salt and pepper to taste

2 cups cooked jasmine rice

1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)

Fresh cilantro (for garnish, optional)

Prepare the Beef: In a medium bowl, combine the thinly sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce, cornstarch, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well to ensure the beef is fully coated. Allow it to marinate for about 10 minutes while you prepare the vegetables.

    Blanch the Broccoli: Fill a pot with water and bring it to a rolling boil. Add in the broccoli florets and blanch for just 1-2 minutes until they turn a vibrant green and become slightly tender. Immediately drain and transfer the broccoli to a bowl filled with ice water to halt the cooking process. This step helps retain their bright color and crisp texture.

      Stir-Fry the Beef: Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the marinated beef in a single layer and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the beef is nicely browned and cooked to your liking. Once cooked, remove the beef from the pan and set aside.

        Sauté the Vegetables: In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of vegetable oil. Stir in the sliced onion, minced garlic, ginger, and bell pepper. Stir-fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables start to soften and become fragrant.

          Combine Everything: Return the cooked beef to the skillet. Add in the blanched broccoli, along with the remaining 2 tablespoons of soy sauce and the oyster sauce, if using. Gently toss all the ingredients together for another 2-3 minutes to ensure everything is well-coated in sauce.

            Finish with Flavor: Drizzle the sesame oil over the stir-fry and stir to combine. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper as desired.
